Jubilee Christian School

Let's take a trip back in time.
Back to a time when pharaohs ruled the land. Back to a time when the average person had no education and worked
their whole life in the fields as farmers. Back to a time when the only thing more important than a persons family
was the activities of a single river, The Nile.
Come on in and visit with some typical ancient Egyptians. Discover who they were, how they lived, what they did for fun. They weren't as different from you as you might think. Just park your camel outside the door and go on in.
No sense getting back on your camel just yet. Stop here to hear the stories of a nobleman's family and that of a farmer's family. Afterwards, play a game of Senet with one of them. But watch out, they have lots of experience playing this ancient game.
Discover whose life revolved around
the Akhet, the Peret, and the Shemu.
This same person would have used a Shaduf after the inundation. If you are not sure what any
of this means, then you should definitely stop here.
One of the most important people to the Egyptians was the Scribe. It was the Scribe who kept the written records and imposed and collected the taxes for the Pharaohs.
Today we take for granted how important the ability to read and write is, but in ancient time only the Scribes and the Pharaohs had this amazing ability.
For even more information about the life of a scribe check this site out.
Use your scribe-like abilities to explore some other professions of ancient Egypt. If you dig deep enough you'll even find out what an adze is used for.
Come explore the comfortable life of the craftmen of ancient Egypt. Back then, if you couldn't read and didn't want to work in the fields, this was the road to take.
Last but not least, dig into this site to get tons on interesting details about the lives of these amazing people. It covers everything from the medicine they used to the hairstlyes they wore.
