DEAR SIXTH GRADERSAs I sit here in my office thinking about you all and your leaving Jubilee Christian School, I have mixed emotions. Seven years is a long time, and for some of you it has been a complete seven year learning and growing experience at Jubilee. However, no matter how many years you have been here, Jubilee has become a part of you and will be a special memory for years to come.
When I see pictures of you from the year 2001, it's hard to believe that some of you are the same students. You have grown and matured and turned into an amazing bunch of 6th graders ready to go to the next step in your education. I am excited for you, knowing that you are ready to move on. At the same time, I am sad to see you go. It won't be the same here without you. It is bittersweet for me.
I hope as you look back on your years at JCS, you will have many wonderful memories of all the fabulous learning experiences, field trips, and special events that have occurred during these past seven years. You have had some terrific teachers who really cared about you and your progress; teachers who have prayed earnestly for you. Additionally, you have made some lasting friendships. These friends will continue to walk alongside of you for many years to come.
As you go, I would say to you remember what you have learned about the Lord here at JCS, and also from your church and family. He is your constant companion. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He hears you when you call out to him. Placing your trust in Him is the greatest thing you can do and what I would long for you to do. Remember also to serve others. Jesus' example to us of what it means to be a servant is clear and He calls us to be like Him. A servant is one who is willing to give up their own desires for the sake of another.
I would also say to each of you to be sure to stay involved in your church. The teen years ahead of you are a vital time to be involved in your Youth Group, Sunday School, and in worship. This will be your support group in the years ahead. This will help you to grow into that person God has in mind.
And finally"plan your work and work your plan." I can't let you go without giving you that bit of advice. This will keep you moving forward with your schoolwork and other activities. Remember those important study skills we talked about at the beginning of the year. Make them a daily habit. Do excellent work in the years ahead so that you can look back and not be dismayed over your t record. Now one last thing... you are always welcome at JCS and I will be looking forward, as will all your former teachers, to hearing about your progress. We will miss you, but we are proud of you and know that you will be successful in your new schools. We will be praying for you during those first weeks in September.
Isaiah 40:31 I expect to see you soar!
God bless you.
Love in Christ,
Mrs. Wolling
ABBYGood evening. My name is Abby and my Mom and Dad, Katie and Grant, are the whole reason that I am giving this speech right now. If they hadn't paid for my tuition, driven me here every day, and everything else then I wouldn't be here. So now I am going to take you through my life at Jubilee Christian School.
Let me take you back to 1st grade, when we were at DePaul Institute. (That was where I started.) I hadn't gone there in Kindergarten like most of my friends did, but I jumped right in. Now in 1st grade our class was split up, so my teacher was Miss Walsh. But there I only met some of my friends, like Christina , Jackie , and Morgan. We all had some cool memories, like at the picnic when Morgan and I got locked in the farmhouse. And when Steven found us, he just ran away!
Then I moved along with the school to the place where we are now and 2nd grade came. There we met Mrs. Devlin, a kind person who never really got angry at you. I also met two more of my friends, Lizzy and Korey. And there we attended our first baby shower for our teacher! It was so great! Then we moved along to 3rd grade with Mrs. Bouwers. And then 4th with Mrs. Paull. She was so sweet and I remember her giving us all birthday spankings! Those were two truly great years!
Next, in 5th grade, we came to Mrs. Deemer. She was really a great teacher! Only for 3/4 of the year though. But while we were with her we went on an overnighter in Philadelphia along with some pretty cool unit studies. But then Mrs. Deemer had to stop teaching for a little while so that she could take care of Chloe, her newborn baby. So then Mr. Phillip came along. That was the best six weeks of school that I attended! He came up with the best ways to teach you!!
And this past year I was taught by Miss Booher. I also came to know some more friends, like Morgan, Nate and Josh. They have been a whole lot of fun! In 6th grade I was changed a lot! Miss Booher gave me a much better understanding of Christ than I already had! I am really going to miss this fantastic school.
When I leave Jubilee I will be moving along to Mellon Middle School. And because of my experiences here, I am more ready than I ever would be. Basically all that I'm trying to say is thank you Jubilee Christian School, thank you!!![]()
CAMGood evening, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Cameron, and I would like to tell you about Jubilee Christian School, and what a profound affect it had on my life. My journey at Jubilee began in 3rd grade after a tumultuous beginning to my life as a grade school student. My parents chose to send me to Jubilee in 3rd grade, hoping that I could change there. I was changed immeasurably. God used Jubilee Christian School as a calming influence to set me down on peaceful waters. I could walk into a classroom and learn things in a way so much better than maddeningly boring lessons and work from drab, dusty textbooks. I could actually understand what I was learning instead of having it shoved down my throat. It was a picture custom made for me. From verses in the Bible that my teachers made more poignant, to seeing the battlefields where history was made at Gettysburg, Jubilee made learning come alive for me. This style of education helped me to soar as a student and as a child of God.
When I first came to this incredible place of learning, I was worried about having a hard time making the transition from one school to another. I should not have worried. I was blessed by the amazing teachers and staff, who made my transition as smooth and easy as it could have possibly been. Every one of my teachers was there to extend a helping hand when I needed one.
I came to Jubilee hoping to make a few friends and no enemies. My hopes were realized sevenfold. I made several lifelong friends during my time at JCS. Joshua was quick to befriend me when I walked into the 3rd grade classroom for the first time, like he has for so many others, and we have remained friends ever since. Nathan was always there when I needed a friend or just advice. Nathan, you pulled me down when my opinion of myself was too high, but also lifted me up when I was feeling down. Timothy could always offer a unique perspective after living in Mexico, Guatemala, Florida, and Pittsburgh, all in the same lifetime. Tobiah and I could talk about our uniquely similar journeys before Jubilee, and Jonathan would always be a friend. If I stated the names of all the great friends God has blessed me with here, this would be a very long farewell address. Thank you all for everything you've been to me from the farthest reaches of my heart.
I would like to offer the deepest thanks of all to my parents for believing in me when it was hard to and working so hard to give me a chance at Jubilee. I would also like to thank my little brother Sean for being the best little brother any older sibling could want. I pray that your time at Jubilee would be blessed by God, and that you would grow in physical and spiritual knowledge throughout this stage of your life.
It is sad to finally have to say goodbye to Jubilee, and all the awesome people who volunteer their time and money to keep it running, but I am looking forward to another great opportunity for Christian education at Hillcrest Christian Academy. I will start anew there, but also renew old friendships with those who graduated from Jubilee and went to Hillcrest before me. Now, I must bid the great school and place Jubilee Christian School adieu. I will never forget my time at Jubilee for as long as I live. Farewell, and Godspeed to wherever Jubilee may choose to go next.![]()
CHRISTINAGood evening, my name is Christina. I have so many great memories from 1st grade through 6th grade. I remember the first day of 1st grade. I was terrified that no one would like me and that I wouldn't make any friends. Then when I got there, I realized that that was absolutely not the case. Right away I started to make friends. I enjoyed every second of it. I had Miss Walsh in 1st grade, Mrs. Devlin in 2nd grade, Mrs. Bouwers in 3rd grade, Mrs. Paull in 4th grade, Mrs. Deemer in 5th grade, and Miss Booher in 6th grade. All my teachers helped me grow more academically, but more importantly they helped me grow in my faith.
Some of my favorite field trips where in 4th grade when our class got to go and see what it was like to be an astronaut and work at the control center. Then everyone got assigned jobs, and I was in the medical category. Another great trip was when I went to Philadelphia in 5th grade. I had a blast there. We went to the US Mint, and a lot of other fun places. Then in 6th grade, we went to Gettysburg. I never wanted to leave. I loved exploring Devil's Den and getting to go to the battle fields.
These years have been wonderful. I would like to thank my Mom and Dad for their continuing support and for sending me to Jubilee Christian School. I would also like to thank the helpers, because without you we would never have gym, recess, art, and many other things. Jubilee has helped set a firm Christian footing for when I go to the public school. I may slip, but I never will fall.![]()
CHRISTINEGood evening! My name is Christine. I have come to Jubilee Christian School for three years now and I am very sad to leave it. Jubilee means so much to me. When I first came here, I was surprised and happy to find that it was such a lovely place. The teachers were funny and nice and the lunchroom wasn't overcrowded. Before Jubilee, I had no interest in school. But at Jubilee, the teachers made learning fun and I wanted to come to school.
When I first came to Jubilee, I didn't know anybody. Over the next few years I gained self confidence and made new friends. It was here I first discovered my love to write fiction stories.
My favorite JCS memories are playing Narnia in a small wardrobe in a hotel room in Gettysburg with Korey and Lizzy. The other is giggling uncontrollably with them later when we were supposed to be sleeping.
I would like to thank my friends and teachers for making my time here at Jubilee Christian School fun, especially during field trips, and Mrs. Wolling for hiring funny, if not hilarious, substitute teachers. A few of the teachers even found out how to make fire drills enjoyable! I would especially like to thank my parents for sending me to Jubilee and making this all possible. Thank you.![]()
JACKIEHi, my name is Jackie and I would like to highlight all the great moments at Jubilee. If you know me, you know that I could go on for pages, but since I don't have that kind of time a couple of paragraphs will do.
In Kindergarten, I remember marching around the room singing the Fruit of the Spirit with Mrs. Richardson. In 1st grade with Miss Walsh I remember having a choice of either dressing up as an Indian or Pilgrim for Thanksgiving, and everyone showed up as Indians. Second grade was great with Mrs. Devlin. We would get little cut-out scoops of ice cream for memorizing our multiplication facts, and then once everyone had memorized them all we had an ice cream party. With Mrs. Bouwers in 3rd grade we had pet tadpoles. I remember 4th grade with Mrs. Paull: We drank hot cocoa and ate peppermints ,while in our PJs) as we read The Polar Express. I loved Mrs. Deemer, period, in 5th grade. Mr. Philipp was a great sub. When we got a 90% or higher on our spelling test we would get to cut a piece of his tie off. Miss Booher was a great teacher in general. I learned a lot more about God and His word in a whole new perspective, plus I got to do great math this year. I'd also like to thank my Dad and Mr. P for coaching the Jubilee Jaguars this year, not to mention Mrs. R for gym, Senorita Ortiz for Spanish, Mrs. Campbell for art, and Mrs. Wolling for being such a great principal.
Even though we all have memories of field trips and exciting days we've had, we have also had not so great memories. But even through that, you can see God's love and power through Jubilee.
The only way I could have experienced Jubilee is through God, who guided my parents to put me here. He has also given money to my parents to put me and keep me here at JCS. So I would like to thank God and my Mom and Dad for giving me this experience. I'll never forget my awesome years, here at Jubilee Christian School.![]()
JONHello to all students, teachers, parents, and Mrs. Wolling, our principal. My name is Jonathan. I have been to many different schools but Jubilee is the best because of its kindness and freeness. This school actually allows you to run when you are at recess! I was here in Kindergarten and that is when Nathan gave me an aloe plant. I still I have that aloe plant at home. After Kindergarten, my family moved to Lancaster and I went to two different schools there before we moved back to Pittsburgh and I returned to Jubilee in 5th grade. I like going to Jubilee because this school has given me more confidence to participate in school activities like dodgeball at recess and Discovery Stations. My favorite Discovery Station was chess, which I did in 5th grade. I have liked 6th grade. I especially liked that Miss Booher allowed us to write down our prayer requests on a card and then we would pray for the requests at Bible time. Thank you for that. My favorite memory from 6th grade is when we went to Gettysburg. I liked best when we were at the Visitor's Center Museum and saw the cannon that had been split apart. So, thank you Mom and Dad for sacrificing your money to allow me to attend this school. I am glad you did. I hope you all will have a great summer. Good night everybody.![]()
JOSHHi, I'm Josh and tonight, I am going to tell you about my life at Jubilee Christian School. When I first came to Jubilee in 2001, I was not strong in my faith and I did not have a very distinct picture of the Lord. Over the years, Jubilee Christian School has helped, with encouraging teachers, administrators, and lunch monitors, to fill those gaps of faith.
Up until 2005, I saw the Bible and other spiritual assignments as required projects. Then, I began really to dig in to the word and Devotions, which are held on Fridays in the Sharing Room. In 6th grade, I began to really grasp the subject and I became a stronger believer in my faith.
At Jubilee Christian School, I have learned math, science, spelling, grammar, history, art, Spanish, and all-school units. This is the study of different countries held once a year. With the helpful teachers, thematic units, and small class size, it has not been hard for me to learn here at Jubilee. Jubilee has also made it much easier to learn with the Christian atmosphere and the low-key environment than some of the other schools.
I enjoy learning all the subjects available and from each class come different memories. My highlights were Gettysburg in 6th grade, Philadelphia in 5th grade, NASA in 4th grade, and many others. The friendships made here, the laughs, the memories, the tears, the smiles, and the joy. All of these we will cherish forever.
Tim was quick to befriend me, coming in to 4th grade. Whenever I have a question about a Spanish word, Tim can answer it. Nathan was one of my first friends who I met in Kindergarten with Mrs. Richardson and Miss Lanna. He has been a great and wonderful friend the whole seven years.
Cam has been another great friend for four years. It is fun to play sports with him, and it is fun to travel on car trips with him. Jon has been an awesome friend and he has really cool pets. His ferrets I I will never forget. Tobiah has been a funny and awesome friend who has been a friend for four years.
For me, it's hard to imagine leaving Jubilee Christian School. After attending for seven straight years, my advice to all students is "Stay as long as you can and enjoy it, it can be fun if you make it fun." I would like to thank my parents for their 100% help and encouragement. Also, I would like to thank my Mom for earning money for my education. Also, my teachers for helping me to grow up right in the ways of a Christian.
And our administrators for running the school the way God would want it to be. Also, Mrs. Wolling for her help and encouragement and advice. And finally, Mr. Phillip, who was the best substitute teacher I ever had and probably ever will have. Thank you all for your advice and encouragement. With Mrs. Wollings advice, "Plan your work, work your plan," I know I can succeed.![]()
KOREYSix years and nine months ago I started out at Jubilee. I always remember thinking that it would be a long time before I stood up here with my final year coming to an end. I'm Korey, and I've been attending here since Kindergarten. I would like to spend a few minutes to share a brief memory from each of my seven years.
In Kindergarten I had Mrs. Richardson until she left to have her baby boy Corey. Then Miss Lanna filled in. My most vivid memory is of Mrs. Thomas (:who's office was across from our room) knocking on our door and leaving before someone would get up to answer it. In her place stood one of those cool inflatable letter people.
In 1st grade, school was different for me because my twin sister was in Miss Walsh's class while I was in Mrs. Lozier's. Every week our class would fingerpaint our spelling words in chocolate syrup, and if we spelled the word right, we got to take a lick of the chocolate. Those were the days!
Mrs. Devlin taught me in 2nd grade. I will always remember our class doing plays. I remember playing the part of a moth. They were neat plays! This was also the first year that we were in MLUP Church, not the DePaul Learning Institute.
In 3rd grade, I spent the school year with Mrs. Bouwers. This was the year that the all-school unit was Ireland. I remember very vividly dancing to Irish music in the program. Units have really made learning fun and easier for me. It's one of the things I love and will always remember about JCS. Well, in 3rd grade, we had a unit about the Midwestern states. I made a brochure about Kansas for a project. I still have that brochure.
Mrs. Paull, always kind and loving, taught me in 4th grade, and really got me into reading. That was the year that we had a fun field trip to the Mission Mars Space Museum. I thought and still think that it was awesome! I also remember the Christmas play that year. It was a musical, and I think that it was the best Christmas play we ever did!
Well, in 5th grade I had a few new experiences. We had Mrs. Deemer most of the year, and it was her first year at Jubilee. All my other teachers had already taught at JCS. When she went on a break to have her baby girl, Mr. Philipp filled in. He was nice, funny, and very much fit our class. It was the first time I had a male teacher. We also took our trip to Philly. This was a great experience!
This year, Miss Booher was my teacher. She is kind, passionate, and committed. It was a neat experience this year getting to go to Math Olympics where everyone from JCS did great! Just this past month, our class went to Gettysburg. The sights and places were amazing! I will always remember how Miss Booher not only talked to us about God, she walked the talk by showing us her kind personality. I really felt that I've grown in my relationship with God this year.
I would first off like to thank God for leading my parents into choosing to send me here, and I would like to thank my parents Ken and Amy for supporting me throughout my entire experience. I would also like to thank all my teachers for helping me to learn and grow. Finally, I would like to thank ALL my classmates for supporting me and just being great friends!
I'm excited to go to Mellon Middle School, and I know I'm more than prepared...but I get kind of emotional when I think about not coming back here. For me, JCS has really been a "Great Beginning!"![]()
LIZZYI never thought I'd stand up here and give this speech. I was always the younger kid in a younger grade.
Well, my name is Lizzy. Tonight I am here to tell you about my wonderful experiences at Jubilee Christian School.
In Kindergarten I had Mrs. Richardson and Miss Lanna. These are some of my memories. Learning to spell by writing words in shaving cream, chocolate sauce, and whipped cream was a really fun way to learn. Also, when I read five books with my parents I would get a pan pizza from Pizza Hut. We all got a laugh when Nate opened his cream pie and it went flying across the room.
In 1st grade I had Mrs. Lozier. She bought us a hamster which we named Oreo. We did tons of projects and did a play. She also gave us tons of free time.
Mrs. Devlin was my 2nd grade teacher. She was really awesome. We did lots of crafts and did play. It was our school's first year in this building.
In 3rd grade I had Mrs. Bouwers. She taught most of us advanced math. Those reading pillows and beanbags she had were really comfortable.
Then in 4th grade Mrs. Paull took us to the MARS Space Simulator. We pretended that we were going to Mars. Mrs. Paull was energetic and fun to be around.
Mrs. Deemer taught us in 5th grade. When we studied the Revolutionary War she took us to Philadelphia. We had a lot of fun. Then, when she left to take care of her baby Chloe for six weeks, we got the best substitute, Mr. Philipp. Whenever we got an A on a spelling test we would get to cut a part of his tie off. Then when his tie was short he would have to wear it for the rest of the day.
Miss Booher was my teacher this past year. During the winter some of my class went with Mrs. Deemer to Math Olympics where our school earned awards. We also had a lot of fun. She took us to Gettysburg when we studied the Civil War. My class bought toy guns at the gift shop and then we had our own re-enactment at Devil's Den.
Every March we had an all-school unit. In my seven years at Jubilee I studied Canada, Africa, Italy, Ireland, China, Mexico, and Australia. Even after all of those units my favorite units I studied at Jubilee were the Revolutionary War and the Civil War.
Well, now that I have told you a portion of my memories at Jubilee it is time to say thanks and bye.
Thanks to all my awesome friends who supported me in tough times and cheered me up when I was sad. If I ever got mad at one of them I could only stay mad for a little while.
Thanks to all my teachers. You were really, really awesome.
Now, thanks to my parents Mark and Holly for sending me to Jubilee Christian School.
Through everything I ever learned at Jubilee the piece of information that I'll never forget is what Miss Booher taught me about God. She taught me I could always learn something new in an old story.
This school was a great beginning. I know now that I am ready for Mellon Middle School, but only because of Jubilee Christian School.
Thanks again to all those who made my years at Jubilee Christian School fun and thank you to God for making it possible for me to come here.
Bye Jubilee, I'll![]()
MORGANGood evening, I'm Morgan. Tonight I would like to share my Jubilee experience.
I've been at Jubilee since Kindergarten. Jubilee has been a great experience for me. The living wax museums that we have done in 5th grade for the Revolutionary War and 6th grade for the Civil War have helped me to find and expand my sewing ability. I made both of my costumes. In 5th I was Betty Ross and made two costumes. In 6th I was Jenny Wade, and let me tell you Civil War dresses are not easy to make.
This year I got to be on the yearbook committee with a bunch of great people. It was awesome to be able to help with that. We got to use Power Point, computers, cameras, and a lot of pictures.
My teachers have been amazing over the years. Our class has had ten teachers total compared to seven that most students have. We are one of the reasons for separated 5th and 6th and a separated 3rd and 4th.
I've made great friends over the years, some in different grades and some in the same grade.
Some of my favorite memories from Jubilee are going to the US Mint in Philadelphia and climbing at Devil's Den in Gettysburg. In 3rd grade we went to Snow Zone as a field trip when we were studying levers and pulleys.
Jubilee has been amazing. I can't even think of words to explain. Jubilee has prepared me well for middle school. Next year I will be going to Eden Christian Academy.
I would like to thank God first of all, my grandparents for their love and for paying my tuition, my teachers for preparing me for middle school, and Mrs. Wolling and my parents for being supportive and loving me. Thank you.![]()
MORGANHello, my name is Morgan. I have had a wonderful experience here at Jubilee. I have been here for all seven years of school, and they will be seven years I will never forget!
In Kindergarten, my teacher was Mrs. Richardson. She was caring and encouraging. When she left to have a baby, Miss Lanna took her place. They were both awesome teachers! I remember the time Nate opened his oatmeal cookie just as Mrs. Richardson was opening our classroom door. The cookie flew out of the room and across the hallway and hit the office door! All four of us girls split and ate the cookie. Yes, Kindergarten was one fun year.
In 1st grade I had the "so-called strict" teacher, Miss Walsh. She really wasn't strict and I really liked having her. She had lots of fun ideas like doing math problems with crispy M&Ms (and then, of course, the best part...letting us eat them!). What I remember most, though, was our class pet, a hermit crab that Stephen named "Spot." When it was my turn to take him home, I built him a house made out of blocks, not realizing that he could easily knock them down and crawl right out! I felt terrible about losing him - and was really upset, until my Mom found him crouching behind our toilet! First grade was only my second year of school, but also my last in the DePaul building.
Second grade was an awesome year! It was the first year in this building and my teacher was Mrs. Devlin. She had a good sense of humor and was always cheerful. I remember Nate writing Mrs. Devil instead of Mrs. Devlin on a thank you card. I also remember doing lots of fun projects and plays.
I have good memories about 3rd grade as well. It was the first year that I actually enjoyed grammar. Mrs. Bouwers made it fun. For example, one day when we were learning about action verbs, we had to do whatever she said. She told us to run down the hall while singing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" - and we did!
Mrs. Paull was a kind and sweet 4th grade teacher and she loved reading! For over a year, I hadn't finished a single book that I'd started - but by the end of 4th grade, I couldn't get enough of reading. Our class won an Accelerated Reader Award that year.
In 5th grade, I had the sweet and soft-spoken teacher, Mrs. Deemer. No, seriously, she was a tough - but fair - teacher and she was a lot of fun. I love math because of her! That year we had an amazing trip to Philadelphia. I really enjoyed visiting the US Mint and Valley Forge. In the Spring, when Mrs. Deemer stayed home to take care of her new baby Chloe, Mr. Philipp took over. If we got an A on our spelling test, we got to cut off a piece of his tie (I still have a couple of those!) I do seriously wonder how many ties he had to give up for us - we're a class of good spellers!
Even after all these wonderful times, teachers and experiences, 6th grade has been my favorite year! Miss Booher really helped me understand and learn about the One and Only God. I had never really thought of Him as someone who enjoyed what I enjoy and laughs when I laugh...but now I do! I will never forget our trip to Gettysburg last month. The highlight was all of us buying toy guns and fighting at Devil's Den! We even got to see the place where General Pickett led his infamous charge.
I believe Jubilee has prepared me for Mellon Middle School. I've learned the skills it takes to be a responsible student. I know what it means to be a good friend and what to look for in a friend. I know I want to follow the plan God has for me and I want to "live out" my favorite Bible verse, Colossians 3:23: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as if working for the Lord, not men."
So, I think I'm ready for the challenges of public school...thanks to my parents, Amy and Ken , my grandparents (who are all here tonight):, all the great teachers, Mrs. Wolling, my good friends, and the best elementary school ever! Now there's just one last thing to say, "Bye, Jubilee Christian School!"![]()
NATHANGood evening, I am Nathan. I didn't think the day would come when I stood up here soon to depart Jubilee. Jubilee was a great school for me and it helped me grow physically, emotionally, and most of all spiritually. I have made many memories here and they will always stay with me.
I remember that in Kindergarten we had the little blow-up letter people. One day that year I opened an oatmeal creme pie and it shot across the room. I had Mrs. Richardson for the teacher until she had a baby. Our class then got Miss Lanna. In 1st grade our class was once again split in two. I and some other kids had Mrs. Lozier while the rest were with Miss Walsh.
For 2nd grade Mrs. Devlin was our teacher. I made a Christmas card for her and accidentally spelled her name D-E-V-I-L. I was lucky to catch that mistake. During 3rd grade was when my faith in Christ grew the most. We had Mrs. Bouwers. Our class as always was large and it split up 3rd and 4th grade. In 4th grade our class won an award in the Accelerated Reader program. Our teacher was Mrs. Paull. Our class also split up 5th and 6th grade. My greatest memory in 5th grade was seeing the Liberty Bell up close. We went to Philadelphia instead of Williamsburg for our overnight field trip. That was good because I had been to Williamsburg and not Philadelphia. Of all the years, 6th grade was one of the best. Recently we went to Gettysburg and that was awesome. Miss Booher was an incredible teacher.
Best of all was the atmosphere of Jubilee. With the morning and Friday devotions my faith grew stronger and stronger. Jubilee Christian School has put me on a path to success and that is a true relationship with God. God has blessed me with many friends, some of which are Josh, Jon, Cameron, Tobiah, Timothy, and Josiah (who left in 1st grade). They helped me get through some tough challenges.
I'd like to thank my Mom and Dad, Colleen and Keith, for being there for me. They have supported me as a left leg would support a man with no right leg. I would also like to thank Mrs. Wolling for being a great principal and guiding this school. Mrs. R was a great gym teacher and Mrs. Campbell was an art teacher who could creatively tie in our units with art. All the teachers and volunteers have been incredible in making Jubilee Christian School a great beginning.![]()
TIMMy name is Timothy. Before I came to JCS, I was at CAG (Christian Academy of Guatemala). I went there for Kindergarten to 3rd grade. I started at JCS in 4th grade. Since I have been here at Jubilee I have had a lot of fun and interesting experiences.
My teacher for 4th grade was Mrs. Paull. She was really nice and she really helped me adjust to a new school. One of the fun things we studied in fourth grade was how to travel out West in the pioneer days in the 1800s. That was my favorite unit that year. I also enjoyed the all-school unit which was China. I enjoyed the tasty food and trying to eat with chopsticks.
In the 5th grade my teacher was Mrs. Deemer. Mrs. Deemer helped me pay attention better and she is a little tougher. In that year we studied the Revolutionary War. During that unit we toured Philadelphia. In Philadelphia we saw the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, the Old Court House and much more. The trip was a lot of fun. Another fun unit in 5th grade was about insects. The all-school unit that year was Mexico, my favorite all-school unit.
My teacher in 6th grade is Miss Booher. She is a fun teacher and very understanding. Sixth grade has been one of my best years at JCS. We had a lot of fun field trips. We went to Channel 4 and saw the Action News and met the anchors. We went to the Symphony, saw the Nutcracker, and went to Gettysburg as part of our Civil War unit. While we were at Gettysburg we saw where Pickett's charge happened and climbed on Devil's Den. We climbed to the top of a memorial tower. We didn't see everything and I hope to go back to Gettysburg. Our all-school unit this year was Australia and we learned about a lot interesting animals.
In closing I want to thank my teachers and my parents and all the other parents and helpers who come to Jubilee to help us. Lots of parents came to help us with the all-school unit and made everything so special.
I thank God that I went to Jubilee Christian School for my last three years of elementary. It is a great school. I know I learned a lot.![]()
TOBIAHGood evening parents, teachers, and students. I am Tobiah. It's sad to be leaving, but I'm glad to have been part of the family here at Jubilee. It's going to be hard to leave again after all the fun I had here this year.
One of my best memories was coming back to school here after being gone for three years. If you remember I left after 2nd grade and went to a public school called Dormont Elementary.
It's nothing like here. In public school, you are labeled as fat or skinny, fast or slow, and smart or dumb. Here that doesn't matter; you are accepted for who you are and how you're built. That's why here you can have a blast no matter who you are.
I got to come back to Jubilee in 6th grade. I thought it was going to be weird to come back and see a lot of people I once knew well but hadn't seen or talked to for a long time. I didn't know how they looked or acted or if they even went to Jubilee any more.
But it wasn't weird coming back. It was like going to a hockey game, preferably in box seats, and coming home. Everything was back to normal as soon as we talked a bit.
Talking about hockey In 6th grade, I got to play for the Jubilee Jaguars hockey team. Boy was that a tripping and falling rocking and rolling ride. Jackie, Joey, Morgan Mae, Claire, Laura, Andrew, Matt, Cooper, and Pete (ask to stand). I would like to thank you for giving me an awesome time playing hockey with you. I had a blast!
Next, I would like to thank Coach P and Coach S for organizing the team and coaching us. I would also like to thank Justin for helping us improve and train our skills.
Aside from hockey, I would like to thank my Mom for sending me back here when I got the opportunity to come back. Also for paying my tuition, for paying for my lunch, and just for giving me that twenty extra dollars that I didn't really deserve for those field trips. My Mom really made my time here as fun as possible.
Another group of people who did that were all the teachers. Even the teachers I didn't know so well because I didn't have them. Just them saying "Good Morning" or "How are you today?" or "Hey," even though hay is for horses, really brightened up my attitude in the morning.
One of my greatest encouragements was Miss Booher. She kept me on t in school and this year she helped me gain a lot of self control. You don't even have to know me very well to know that my mouth likes to stay open. She helped me with my schoolwork, my self confidence and most of all my relationship with God. In the times that I fell away from Him, she would challenge me with something to draw me even closer to Him.
It's been nice going to Jubilee and I finally have to leave but I'll end with three reasons I would recommend this school. 1. The teachers and parents are awesome and nice. 2. The students are kind and loving like a family. 3. It is Christian school and has a Christian environment based on God.![]()
TO MY KIDDOSI have spent so much time this year trying to impress upon you the things that I feel are most important for you to remember. I am confident you know what they are. However, allow me to once more bring your hearts and minds back to the work of the cross and the Sovereign, triumphant act we find there. At the end of the day, your worth is found in the Lord alone who has redeemed you from certain death through the blood of His Son and Who calls you His own. Truly, what good thing will He withhold if He did not withhold His own Son? Dive as deep as you can into the Lord's promises and may your passion to know Him more and more fully grow until it is the essence of what makes you YOU. We know opportunities present themselves for sanctification. Do not despair when those opportunities arise but remind yourself of Who has ordained all things and Who will not call you into any situation without the wisdom, grace, joy, and perseverance to see it through. The full riches of His grace are ours, He desires to be glorified and He WILL be glorified. Think back as we studied Joseph. Each piece of the puzzle was...puzzling! Yet from the evil man intended, God was ultimately in charge; he worked every piece to fit perfectly with His plan to bring forth a mighty nation. That scared boy in a pit could never have foreseen the amazing plan laid out for his life. There is just as amazing a plan for your life. Never doubt the Lord's sovereign power at work to accomplish what He desires and we KNOW it will be a good thing. "No eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor heart conceived, what God has prepared for those who love Him." (1Cor. 2:9) I consider myself blessed to have been your teacher this past year. As we came into the year, I had expectations, but you blew them out of the water. Each of you will always lay claim to a special piece of my heart that no other student will ever be able to have. I am so excited to see where you are in ten years. I KNOW it will be great places! Have an absolutely amazing, grace-filled rest of your life, and never forget that the Rebels won the first day of fighting at Gettysburg! Ha ha!
Lovingly Yours,
Miss Booher

I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them; and I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me. I will rejoice in doing them good with all my heart and all my soul.
