Jubilee's Fundraising Philosophy

Historically, JCS has relied on fundraising for approximately 1/3 of the overall budget. Starting two years ago the board began to switch from a survival mode into a strategic planning focus. One of the goals identified was to reduce reliance upon fundraising for operating expenses and utilize the funds to focus on strategic planning objectives. Some of the strategic objectives identified are; teacher retention (salary increases, training, and education), improved curriculum, foreign language instruction, our own facility, and additional grade levels to include 7th and 8th.

Currently, we have begun to achieve some of these objectives and have also reduced the reliance on fundraising for operating expenses to approximately 20-25% of budget.

Thus, the fundraising philosophy and consequently the objectives for those funds are currently in the transition phase between funding of operations and strategic planning. These funds will ALWAYS be critical to the success and growth of the school as we strive to be good stewards of these gifts and do God's work of providing a nurturing environment for our children to bloom.

Activities of Fundraising

Fundraising Activities can be broken down into 2 main categories; on-going and annual. The majority of the on-going fundraisers are optional and one in particular can provide tuition reimbursement back to families. These activities are subject to minor adjustments on a yearly basis.

Annual fundraisers include the End of Year Letter, The Race for Education jog-a-thon, and the Pasta Dinner/Silent Auction comprises over 70% of the fundraising budget. The Pasta Dinner/Silent Action is the most demanding in terms of manpower of all our events. The expectation for this event is that EVERY family will have one member as a full time volunteer during the evening of the event. This event helps to build school spirit (you get to spend fun volunteer time with other families) and awareness of our school in the community in addition to the much needed funds.
